Overview

Master Concept Recycle Bin Component for EMC Documentum is one of our several customized components related to deletion in EMC Documentum. This component enable users of the EMC Documentum product to restore files that have been deleted, whether accidentally or intentionally, easily. Administrator could also review the contents of the recycle bin and decide which item to be deleted permanently.

Original EMC Documentum behavior will directly delete the document when delete operation is called. There are some cases that a document is deleted wrongly or later a restoration requested. Therefore, it is desired to keep the copy of deleted document in recycle bin. Recycle bin in general cannot be seen except the user is the owner of the deleted document or is a super user. The owner of the deleted document can only see the deleted document which is deleted by him, the super user can see all the deleted documents in Recycle bin.

The owner of the document or the super user can restore the deleted document as latest version in original document tree if applicable. Or, it can restore the document by choosing particular location in repository.
