The Challenges

DiDi strived to provide global customers and self-employed drivers with user-friendly customized location-based search results to improve the seamless user experience continuously. The service would help drivers and customers easily to find them from a cell phone app, to set customers’ own schedule, cut down on customers’ waiting time, track the driver’s departure, route and arrival easily. The technical issues encountered primarily related to user experience and application performance which have substantial differences between GMP and their own developed location-based services.

The Solutions

Master Concept’s technical team was brought to Didi Headquarter in order to have a better understanding of their requirements. The team also clarified each of the APIs capabilities and suggest workable solution to overcome their technical challenges. Bi-weekly meetings are held with our GMP customer engineers to ensure all major issues were being handled responsively.

DiDi implemented Google Maps as the mapping and asset tracking platform as it found Google Map is capable of the most accurate, and effective geographic mapping capabilities than competing platforms. When customers open the app, it can easier to find the rides with regulated and registered drivers. Customers can easily check the drivers’ GPS tracking and display the exact precise locations of all nearby available vehicles. It improves significantly for customers to get the drivers in needed. The customized app also shows the best route for the drivers to get the riders and the arrival time for the drivers’ destination. 

The Result

Due to the familiar Google Maps interface, there were numerous of customers expressed that they have a seamless user experience on the location-based mapping feature, Drivers get to their consumers faster than before, as drivers are able to get the best route.
